FROM THE EDITOR:

This season is triggered by a variety of influences. ELEGANT BRUTALISM with its simple yet sculptured volumes both exaggerated and oversized as well as cement like textures and unfinished, spattered aspects. ARTSY & SUSTAINABLE as we ccontinuously search for materials recovered from anything that can be recycled, up-cycled and reinvented but with an artistic twist. Our creativity is invaded with new ideas inspired by GLOBAL FOLKLORE  and local traditions from Native Central and North American cultures to countries of the Arctic circle,  Lastly, FUTURE LUXURY which brings us to another level with aspects such as opulent baroque, arabesques, and precious metallic surfaces that are proposed in a more contemporary, dramatic and pop version.

KEY THEMES:

  • NOISE NOISE: The dawn of color TV and nostalgia for the very first computer-generated images. 1970's paleo-technologies, stroboscopic effects, luminous vibrations and kinetic dynamism. Distortions, reflections and iridescence but in a dark and vaguely vintage version.
  • FUTURE PERFECT: Experimental space lab for mad scientists! Shades of vintage sci-fi with a nod to the collective futurist imagination of the past. Nostalgia for the optimistic and iconoclastic design of the 1960's and the genius of GERRY (and Sylvia) ANDERSON. ( English television and film producer, director, writer - famous for his futuristic television programmes).
  • DARK MATTER: The power of ANISH KAPOOR's absolute black (British sculptor born in Bombay but lived in London since the early 70's and one of the most influential sculptors of his generation) . Material, carbonic, monolithic black. A color with dramatic and immortal overtones, updated with surprise surfaces halfway between cyberpunk car design and prehistoric accessory.
  • ROMANTIK: Half way between shades of baroque and futuristic spirit. Avant-garde design meets the decor of the remote past. Slightly theatrical touches to emphasize sophisticated opulent aspects far from the stereotypical idea of luxury. From techno-damask to liquid metal objects.
  • ARCHEO-CYCLED: Recycling scrap materials and introducing artistic aspects to the concept of sustainability. Indigo, the symbolic color of denim, revisited in an avant-garde version with shades of the archaic and tribal as well as contemporary experimentation.
  • HOPI HOPE: Shades from Native Americans, reinterpreted in a contemporary artistic key. Patterns, symbols and colors of the American Indian tradition revised in an abstract and sporty way. A mix of traditional North and Central American elements with street-wear inspired details.
  •  MANGAROQUE: The characteristic elements of the 70's SHOJO CULTURE reinterpreted in a futuristic key (SHOJO  is a fascinating cultural space, within contemporary Japanese culture, which fosters creative expressions of gender through figurative contemporary art) . The stereotypical elements of baroque luxury revised in a Kawaii and psychedelic key.
  • SNOWBOUND: Imaginary polar impressions inspired by the INUIT ( Family of culturally similar indigenous peoples inhabiting the Arctic regions of Greenland, Canada and Alaska). Shades of color are reinvented in a dreamlike and fantasy of the eternal winters. Neutral tones inspired by the snowscapes of the far north in both warm and cold accents.
